A Love Story

Love, you left me with a big scar
A reminder of the pains we’ve been through
I suffered when you chose to live with me
You crippled me with your weight
And when you said you wanted out!
I was both scared & relieved
Thirteen torturous hours
Every second of kick & jab seemed endless
It was a long fight lasting from morning ‘til midnight
And I was just there battered…
I thought that’s the end until
You finally got out with a knife
I breathed for a day, but the next days…
Horrendous…

You turned into a vampire
I cried at every nibble but I know you needed it
My breasts bleeding as you suckled my blood
You wouldn’t even lay me to bed
And you just hanged me on air
I froze every time you screamed
And when you slept for a moment,
I crawled escaping out of our room just to eat or bathe
I realized we were strangers,
Still learning to get along
But we chose to be together through tears & laughter

And now,
I don’t regret every trickle of sorrow
I’m just grateful you’re here huddled in my arms
My heart smitten by your glowing eyes
Your bright smile piercing my soul
And in your silence,
I know you are not mine…

You are Heaven’s grace on Earth
Time comes you’d grow legs & live your life
Maybe one day hitched to another woman
And have adorable vampires of your own
But even until you yourself turn into a zombie,
You will always be my babe…
